Building Moldova's Open-Source
Visual Identity Registry

IdentitateMD — catalog of Moldovan public institution logos

IdentitateMD is an open-source registry of SVG logos, official color palettes, and brand guidelines for public institutions in the Republic of Moldova — a single source of truth for designers, developers, and civic technologists.

We designed and built the full product: the catalog website at identitate.md, the @identitate-md/logos NPM package, and the @identitate-md/mcp server — enabling AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Cursor to fetch institution logos and brand data directly from the editor.

Problem

Moldova's public institutions publish their logos inconsistently — scattered across different websites, in varying formats, resolutions, and often without color specifications or brand guidelines. Designers and civic developers waste hours hunting for a usable government logo, only to find a blurry PNG buried in a PDF footer.

There was no central, reliable, open source for high-quality visual identities of Moldovan public institutions.

Approach

Open-source,

NPM Package,

MCP Server,

Astro Website,

CDN Distribution

We designed the project around three delivery layers: a human-readable catalog website, a developer-friendly NPM package, and an AI-native MCP server. All assets live in a single repository and are distributed via jsDelivr and unpkg CDNs — free, versioned, and always up to date.
